Meet
"Sam" Cradduck
For as long as I can remember, the health and well-being of others have been at the center of who I am and more importantly, who I strive to be.
As a gerontologist, I have gained the head knowledge to support my heart's desire to serve the elderly population. The study of Gerontology provides amazing insight and understanding of the challenges that are specific to aging. as we know, knowledge and understanding without heart and passion can seem mechanical. At the same time, heart and passion without knowledge and understanding leads to frustration.
As the Owner and Director of The Living Room, I believe that excellence and compassion start at the top. After many years serving as a caregiving, I set a goal of owning an agency that would make a huge difference in people's lives. Owning an agency certainly has a positive impact on those we serve.
But what about the ones who don't have professionally trained care providers??
With over 80% of care being provided by family members and friends who have no formal training, I knew that helping these "caregivers" could impact a much larger population.
By understanding the skills, understanding the relationships, the disease progressions, and the needs of their loved ones, we can help to eliminate much of the frustration that is felt. By eliminating frustration, we enhance the quality of care that is provided, ultimately relieving much of the stress that everyone in this situation feels.
With classes designed for professional and lay care providers, I am sure everyone will find information that will benefit them and their loved ones.
